Registration & Tuition

Registration:
The registration packet must be filled out completely by a parent or guardian before a child can be enrolled at the center.  These forms are required for licensing purposes and provide the essential information that is required to ensure the proper health and safety of the child.  It is crucial that the center maintain the most current information at all times.  In the case of a change of address, phone number, or employment, the center must be notified immediately so that the information can be updated in the child’s record.

  • Parents are required to pay an initial application/enrollment fee of $ 25.00.
  • Parents are required to pay the first week’s tuition to secure a space for your child.
  • Parents are required to pay a yearly supply fee of 50.00 due upon enrollment.
  • Parents are required to make a pre-enrollment visit with their child before the child is left at the center for the first time.  This visit will familiarize the child with the new surroundings and also give the parents an opportunity to see the operations of the Center and to ask questions.
  • Bright Start Learning Center, L.L.C. has an “open-door” policy for parents.  If you wish to have a conference with the Director, you might call to set an appointment. Otherwise, no advance notice is necessary.

Tuition and Payment Schedule:
When a child is enrolled at BSLC, they occupy a space in a particular room.  Regardless of whether a child attends daily, or is absent due to illness, vacationing, or family events, the parent is responsible for payment each week.
Tuition is due in advance each Monday by 5:30 p.m.  Checks can be dropped off in the payment box located at each entrance. All cash payments need to be in an envelope labeled which includes parent and child’s name and date. If tuition is not paid by Monday at 5:30 p.m., a $ 5.00 late fee will accumulate for each day that payment is not received. The center closes at 5:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.  Parents who arrive later than 5:30 p.m. will be charged $5.00 for every 5 minutes they arrive after closing time.

Please note: Tuition rates are based on a 9-hr. day.  Anything over a 9-hr. day is an additional $ 5.00 an hour per child.  If you need care over 9-hours on a regular basis, please notify the Director and your rate will be adjusted accordingly in which you can pay a flat rate.    This also applies to Mountain Heart parents.

If a personal check is returned to the center due to insufficient funds, the center will charge the parent $ 25.00 in addition to the original amount of the check.  A second offense will mean that checks are no longer accepted and tuition must be paid via cashier’s check, money order, or cash. If you pay in cash, we ask that you place in an envelope labeled with parent and child’s name and place in payment box.

Withdrawals and Grounds for Dismissal:
Parents may withdraw a child from the program at any time.  A two-week notice is required.  Parents who fail to provide a two-week notice will be responsible for the last two weeks of tuition.  Withdrawal and subsequent re-enrollment will entail an additional fee.

  • The center reserves the right to dismiss a child from the program if he becomes an endangerment to himself or others (an example being habitually biting another child.)  This decision will only be made after a series of parent/teacher conferences and consultations with the director.
  • Non-payment for care can result in the dismissal of a child.  It is our policy to take personal interest in each child and his family.  If the parents do experience any financial difficulties, we will try to work with them before dismissing the child.
  • Failure to provide up-to –date health records for the child may result in dismissal.
  • Other dismissal causes are chronic ill health and misbehavior, which is consistently threatening or disruptive to other children and in the judgement of the staff, appears to be uncontrollable.  Behavior issues will be documented and parent meetings will be scheduled to develop an individual plan for your child.  Outside sources will be used only when parent agrees.
  • A parent’s failure to cooperate with center polices.  A child can be dismissed if a parent’s actions become aggressive.
