Drop- off and Pick-up:
BSLC is open daily between 6:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Children must be signed into the classroom each morning with the time of arrival and a guardian’s full signature. The procedure is the same for afternoon pickup. A $20.00 late fee per child will be acquired for every 15 minutes after 5:30 p.m.

All parents are encouraged to have their child/children at the center by 9:30 a.m. in order to ensure proper lunch count and to keep your child in their daily routine. If your child will be coming in later, parents should notify Director or Asst. Director.

Should parents require someone from their list of authorized people to pick up their child, they must inform the teacher or the director verbally or in writing when the child is dropped off that morning or prior to the child being picked up. We also ask that you send a message through Bright Wheel 10 minutes prior to arrival so that we can have your child ready. People authorized to pick up your child will be asked to show photo I.D. before the center will dismiss your child from our care.

Early Pick-up:
If you wish to pick up your child early, we ask that you please verbally notify your child’s teacher or director and write a note on through the Bright Wheel App. BSLC asks that parents try to refrain from picking up their child between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. due to rest time.

Emergency Plan:
As required by WV licensing regulations, Bright Start Learning Center has developed an Emergency Plan. The objective of emergency preparedness is to identify proper procedures and responsibilities for staff personnel in case of natural or other disaster situations. Copies of the Emergency Plan are located in each of the classrooms and the office. The children will practice regular fire drills, emergency drills consisting of a safe place within the center and outside if the center. If the center is evacuated in case of emergency, parents will be notified directly and if the parent is not reachable the emergency contact will be called. This will allow us to give you vital information as to where your child is and how they can be picked up.

Inclement Weather:
Bright Start Learning Center follows Jefferson County Schools for all inclement weather closings and delays.
